Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong still sees Bitcoin reaching $400,000 by 2030, describing the ambitious target as “reasonable†despite BTC trading at roughly $76,700 today. Speaking on CNBC's Squawk Box Asia on Thursday, Armstrong reiterated his long-term bullish outlook, highlighting the enormous upside still ahead for the world's largest cryptocurrency.
Coinbase CEO Doubles Down on Bitcoin's $400K Future
Armstrong pointed to Bitcoin's widely followed four-year cycle, which typically sees the cryptocurrency surge into a period of euphoria before entering a prolonged downturn.Â
According to the Coinbase CEO, Bitcoin has now passed the one-year mark of its latest correction, suggesting the worst of the cycle may already be behind it. “I personally believe that the bottom is in on Bitcoin in this most recent cycle,†Armstrong said, pointing to the cryptocurrency's rebound from around $60,000.
Asked whether he still sees Bitcoin reaching $400,000 by 2030 despite the cryptocurrency currently trading below $77,000, Armstrong remained confident. He reaffirmed that the six-figure target is achievable, describing $400,000 as a reasonable price for the alpha crypto in just over three years.
The Next Year or Two Are Going to Be Good for BTC



 
Armstrong also pointed to Bitcoin's historical tendency to rally ahead of its halving events, with the next one expected in roughly 18 months. “I think the next year or two is going to be good for Bitcoin,†he said, adding to his bullish outlook for BTC.
The next quadrennial Bitcoin halving event is currently projected for mid-April 2028, when the network reaches block height 1,050,000.
Meanwhile, Armstrong was equally upbeat about the regulatory outlook in Washington. With the Senate scheduled to vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15, he said conversations with lawmakers have left him confident the bill is on track to secure approval. He added that law enforcement groups, major banks, and crypto firms are broadly supportive, while concerns previously raised by Coinbase have since been addressed.
Armstrong argued that Bitcoin could gain regulatory clarity regardless of how the Senate vote plays out. If the CLARITY Act passes, he said the industry would finally have legislation in place. But even if lawmakers reject or delay the bill, Armstrong believes the SEC and CFTC are prepared to move forward with their own rulemaking, potentially delivering clearer crypto regulations shortly after the September 15 vote.
