Wolves vs. Manchester United Team News and Predicted Lineups: Premier League

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester United team news, lineups

As Manchester United looks to bounce back from a dismal run of form, they travel to Molineux to face a resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers side on Boxing Day.

The Red Devils have won just two of their last six games in all competitions, including a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth last time out.

New manager Ruben Amorim has struggled to turn things around since taking over, with his side sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Wolves, on the other hand, have found some much-needed form under new boss Vitor Pereira. They picked up a crucial 3-0 win away at Leicester City last time out, moving them within two points of safety.

Matheus Cunha has been leading the charge up front, and the team will be looking to build on their recent good run of results.

Team News

Wolves are expected to name an unchanged side from the win at Leicester, with Rayan Ait-Nouri the only potential returnee after missing that game. Cunha will lead the line, supported by Daniel Podence and Goncalo Guedes.

Manchester United will be without the injured duo of Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof, while Luke Shaw has also suffered a setback. Wantaway striker Marcus Rashford remains a doubt. Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia could come into the starting XI.

Predicted Lineups

Wolves: (3-4-3)

Sa;

Semedo, Bueno, Toti;

R. Gomes, J. Gomes, Andre, Ait-Nouri;

Guedes, Strand Larsen, Cunha.

Manchester United: (3-4-3)

Onana;

De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez;

Mazraoui, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot;

Amad, Hojlund, Fernandes.

This clash could prove crucial in the context of both teams’ seasons. A win for Wolves would further boost their survival hopes, while United desperately need the points to keep pace in the race for European qualification. With the home side’s impressive recent form, this has the makings of a close encounter at Molineux.
