Manchester United's January Transfer Targets Emerge Amid Coaching Change

As Manchester United prepare to enter the winter transfer window under new manager Ruben Amorim, the club appears poised for a potential squad overhaul.

Amorim, who took over the struggling Red Devils midseason, is said to be assessing his roster and identifying key areas that require reinforcement.

One high-profile departure that appears imminent is that of forward Marcus Rashford. The academy product is reportedly open to leaving Old Trafford, and the club is willing to sanction his sale, provided a suitable offer materializes.

Offloading Rashford’s wages could free up significant funds for Amorim to invest in new talent.

At the top of the manager’s wishlist is reportedly a new striker to bolster United’s misfiring attack. The team has struggled for goals this campaign, with just 21 strikes in 18 Premier League outings. Amorim is said to be eyeing Swede Viktor Gyokeres, who has impressed under the Portuguese coach’s tutelage at Sporting CP.

Addressing the left-back position is another priority for Amorim, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia failing to fully convince.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes, who previously played under Amorim, has emerged as a potential target to shore up the backline.

While United may need to offload players before making significant acquisitions, Amorim will be hoping to use the January window to reshape his squad and steer the club away from its current predicament.

A successful transfer period could be crucial in the Portuguese manager’s efforts to revive Manchester United’s fortunes.
