Manchester United Star Rashford Breaks Silence Amid Departure Rumors

Marcus Rashford

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has posted on social media for the first time since confirming his desire to leave the club, sharing a message about spending “family time” ahead of Christmas.

Rashford, 27, revealed last week that he is seeking a “new challenge” away from Old Trafford, where he has spent the past 20 years. The England international has not been included in United’s squad for their last three matches.

The decision to drop Rashford has been attributed to new manager Ruben Amorim, who took over at United in November. However, Amorim has suggested the player’s representatives may have played a role in Rashford going public with his desire to depart.

I understand that this kind of player, they have a lot of people around them making some choices that are sometimes not the first idea from the player,” Amorim told Sky Sports. “So I understand, I can separate things.”

Amorim insisted he remains focused on improving Rashford’s performances on the pitch, saying: “I just see what I see on the pitch.”

Rashford is unlikely to feature in United’s Boxing Day clash with Wolves as the struggling club, currently 13th in the Premier League, aim to turn their fortunes around in the second half of the season.

The winter transfer window opens on January 1, providing an opportunity for Rashford to secure a move away from the club he has represented since coming through their youth academy.
