Manchester United Outcast Antony Eyed by La Liga Side Real Betis for Potential Loan Move

Antony

In the midst of Manchester United’s ongoing transition under new manager Ruben Amorim, one player whose future remains uncertain is Brazilian winger Antony.

The Red Devils were actively seeking an exit for the 22-year-old during the summer transfer window, and they are now reportedly exploring the possibility of a loan move in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to reports from ABC de Sevilla, via Marca, Real Betis have initiated preliminary contacts with Manchester United to understand the financial requirements for a potential deal.

For the move to materialize, it is suggested that Antony would need to accept a significant pay cut, and Betis winger Assane Diao may also have to depart the club.

Antony has seen limited playing time this season, making just 11 appearances and providing a single assist in 349 minutes of action. Only three of those appearances were as a starter.

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has a reputation for getting the best out of technical players, as evidenced by his work with the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Isco, and Ez Abde.

Diao, who has been linked with a move away from Betis for much of the past year, was reportedly close to a €25 million transfer to Brentford last January, but his stock has since declined.

The potential loan move to Real Betis could provide Antony with an opportunity to revive his career and gain more consistent playing time, while also potentially benefiting the La Liga club’s attacking options on the right flank.
