Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Hilal? Club CEO Dismisses Rumors Ahead of Club World Cup 2025

As the football world gears up for the expanded FIFA Club World Cup 2025, speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential move to Al Hilal has ignited heated debates among fans and analysts alike. However, Al Hilal CEO Esteve Caldaza has firmly dismissed the rumors, calling them “science fiction” and stating that Ronaldo remains under contract with Al Nassr.

Al Hilal’s Ambitions for Club World Cup 2025

Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal are set to compete in Group H of the tournament, facing Real Madrid, FC, Salzburg, and Pachuca. With the departure of Neymar in January, the club is reportedly looking to bolster its attacking options, fueling speculation that they might pursue Ronaldo.

Despite the excitement surrounding a potential Ronaldo vs. Messi showdown, Caldaza has made it clear that signing the Portuguese superstar is not on the club’s agenda. “CR7 is not our player, so it’s difficult to comment on that. He’s not a free agent now, it’s not nice to talk about that,” Caldaza told GiveMeSport.

Ronaldo’s Current Form and Contract Situation

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to defy expectations, having scored 28 goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions this season. His contract with Al Nassr is set to expire at the end of the season, with reports suggesting he has signed a one-year extension, though no official confirmation has been made.

Al Hilal’s interest in Ronaldo dates back to 2022, when they initially pursued him before Court of Arbitration for Sport restrictions prevented the move. Now, with the Club World Cup set to take place in the United States between June 14 and July 13, speculation has resurfaced about whether the Saudi giants will make another attempt to secure his signature.

The Ronaldo vs. Messi Dream Match

Football fans have long dreamed of another Ronaldo vs. Messi clash, reminiscent of their legendary battles in La Liga. The last time the two icons faced off was in January 2023, when Paris Saint-Germain defeated Riyadh All Stars 5-4, with Messi scoring first and Ronaldo netting a brace.

With Inter Miami also competing in the Club World Cup, the possibility of a final showdown between the two legends remains tantalizing. However, unless Al Hilal makes a surprise move, Ronaldo will likely remain with Al Nassr for the tournament.

While the rumors of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Al Hilal have captured global attention, the club’s leadership has firmly denied any such plans. As the Club World Cup 2025 approaches, all eyes will be on Ronaldo’s next move and whether football fans will get the dream matchup they’ve been hoping for.
