Bayern vs RB Leipzig predicted line-ups and team news

Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back from their first Bundesliga defeat of the season when they host RB Leipzig on Friday night.

The Bavarian giants suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Mainz in their last league outing, allowing their title rivals to close the gap at the top of the table.

Bayern still lead the way with 33 points from 14 games, but RB Leipzig are now just six points behind in fourth place after beating Eintracht Frankfurt last time out.

Team News

Bayern will be without several key defenders for the visit of Leipzig, with Sacha Boey, Hiroki Ito and Josip Stanisic all ruled out through injury. Midfielder Konrad Laimer is also unavailable.

In their absence, Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are expected to start as the central defensive pairing, with either Raphael Guerreiro or Alphonso Davies potentially having to fill in at right-back.

Manuel Neuer remains sidelined until the new year, so Daniel Peretz is set to continue in goal for Bayern. Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane could feature in attack behind Thomas Muller.

For Leipzig, midfielders Amadou Haidara, Eljif Elmas and Forzan Assan Ouedraogo are all unavailable. Christoph Baumgartner, Xaver Schlager and Kevin Kampl are likely to start in the middle of the park.

Castello Lukeba is a long-term absentee, so Nicolas Seiwald, Willi Orban and Lutsharel Geertruida could form the back three. Strikers Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda are expected to lead the line.
