AC Milan’s Coaching Situation Under Scrutiny Amid Losing Streak

AC Milan are grappling with mounting pressure on head coach Sergio Conceiçao as the team endures a challenging phase in Serie A.

Following a third consecutive defeat, Milan’s recent 2-1 loss against Lazio has seen them fall to the ninth position on the league table, trailing nine points behind Lazio.

Despite the setbacks, reputable sources such as Sky Sport Italia and Corriere della Sera report that the club management is not currently considering dismissing Conceiçao. However, his role remains uncertain as the team has not shown the desired improvement under his guidance.

Since taking over from Paulo Fonseca in December 2024, Conceiçao has overseen 17 matches, securing eight victories, three draws, and six losses.

The 48-year-old’s contract with Milan runs until 2026, but the club retains an option to terminate the agreement at the end of the season.

In the event of further deterioration, club legend Mauro Tassotti is viewed as a potential interim successor. Tassotti, a former player and assistant to Carlo Ancelotti, is already involved with the club as Massimo Oddo’s assistant with Milan Futuro, the Rossoneri’s second team.

As AC Milan face this critical juncture, the focus remains on how quickly Conceiçao can turn the team’s fortunes around and stabilize their Serie A campaign.
