In a thrilling display of resilience and determination, the Sacramento Kings, led by Domantas Sabonis, turned the tables on the Miami Heat, snatching a nail-biting 111-110 victory on Monday night. Sabonis, in a last-second heroics, scored off an offensive rebound with just 0.7 seconds left, capping off a remarkable comeback from a 15-point deficit.

Sacramento’s Key Performances

The Kings found their savior in DeAaron Fox, who led the offensive charge with 28 points. DeMar DeRozan also put up a strong performance, contributing 26 points. Sabonis, the star of the night, rounded off with a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds, along with seven assists. His final rebound and score off Fox’s miss became the game-winning basket.

Heat Highlights: Butler and Herro’s Stellar Efforts

For the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler was the standout performer, scoring 15 of his 27 points in the crucial fourth quarter. Tyler Herro matched Butler’s score, also adding 27 points to the Heat’s total. Bam Adebayo, whose Olympic gold medal banner was unveiled during the game, contributed 16 points. Rookie Pelle Larsson also impressed with 13 points. However, Terry Rozier’s missed 30-footer at the buzzer meant heartbreak for the Heat, whose fourth quarter foul line record was 7 for 12.

Key Game Turning Points

The Heat seemed to have the game in control with a five-point lead and just 1:11 remaining on the clock. However, a crucial four-point play by DeRozan ignited a game-changing 8-2 run in favor of the Kings.

Third Quarter Struggles for the Heat

Despite enjoying a 15-point lead early in the third quarter, the Heat were left stunned as they were outscored 37-17 in the period. This continues a worrying trend for the Miami team, who have been outscored 137-71 in four third quarters at home this season, including two instances where the deficit exceeded 20 points.

Looking Ahead

The Kings, now boasting a 6-31 all-time record in Miami, host the Toronto Raptors next on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Heat are set to embark on a challenging six-game road trip, opening in Phoenix, also on Wednesday.

Team Notes

On the Kings’ side, Kevin Huerter sat out due to illness, with Keon Ellis stepping in to start. For the Heat, Kevin Love made a return to the bench after missing the first five games due to personal reasons, though he did not play. The Heat also missed Jaime Jaquez Jr., who was sidelined with gastroenteritis.
