There are lots of things you can do to get through another Hump Day, but are there any that top winning money using one of our best MLB bets for Wednesday, July 30? That probably depends on how much you win.

I’m not trying to say these bets are a lock to win, because there is no such thing as a “lock.” If someone tells you there is, don’t risk money on their picks. Now, my best bets list is wagers that I have thoroughly researched and believe in.

But hey — sometimes even the Rockies win (not often, but sometimes). Here are my best bets for today (odds via FanDuel):

Blue Jays at Orioles (-1.5), O/U 10

Pick: Under 10

Both teams are among the hottest-hitting clubs in baseball right now. The pitchers they faced in those recent blowouts probably deserved the beating they got. But this game features José Berríos, who has been stellar on the road (4–3, 3.30 ERA, .230 opponent batting average), and Dean Kremer.

Kremer got off to a rough start this season but holds a winning record (8–7), decent ERA (4.23) and WHIP (1.25). That said, he’s surrendered five earned runs in two of his last four starts — both at home and on the road.

Our pick: Under 10

While both teams are swinging hot bats, it won’t be nearly as easy against these starters. Expect a result more like yesterday’s 3–2 game — not an offensive explosion.

Mets (-1.5) at Padres (+100), O/U 8.5

Pick: Mets -1.5

Yu Darvish has been getting absolutely rocked since his return — 17 earned runs across four games, no wins (0–3). As for the Mets, Clayton Holmes has pitched well this season, going 9–5 with a 3.40 ERA and .239 OBA.

However, Holmes gave up seven hits and five earned runs on July 8 to the Orioles in Baltimore.

Our pick: Mets -1.5

The Mets will light up Darvish like everyone else has. But once he’s pulled, scoring should slow down since the Padres bullpen is solid. Holmes won’t be as easy to hit. The Padres will score a few, but they won’t keep up.

Rangers (-130) at Angels (+1.5), O/U 8

Pick: Under 8

There have been high-scoring games between these two teams (some lopsided), but don’t expect that today. Nathan Eovaldi enters with a 1.50 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and .193 opponent batting average — and will face an Angels lineup hitting just .189 over the last week.

On the other side, José Soriano is 2–2 in five starts with a 3.10 ERA this month. However, he gave up five earned runs to the Rangers on July 8.

Our pick: Under 8

Texas isn’t an offensive juggernaut, but even if Soriano gives up another five runs, Eovaldi could shut the Angels out — like he did in that July 8 game (a 13–1 win; the run was unearned).
