Chelsea Clinch Deal for Manchester United Target Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP

Chelsea Football Club has successfully secured the signing of Portuguese wonderkid Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, outmaneuvering Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the process.

The 17-year-old prodigy, who has been on the radar of several top European clubs, has agreed to join the Blues, with all terms and agreements in place.

Geovany Quenda, a versatile player excelling as both a winger and a wing-back, has been making waves in Liga Portugal with his impressive performances.

This season, he has made 25 league appearances, contributing to six goals and assists combined. Quenda’s talent and potential have not gone unnoticed, attracting significant attention from clubs across Europe.

Manchester United, under the guidance of former Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim, were particularly keen on reuniting with the young talent.

Paris Saint-Germain also expressed strong interest, leveraging their connections in Portugal through sporting advisor Luis Campos. However, it was Chelsea who ultimately won the race for Quenda’s signature.

According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reached a club-to-club agreement with Sporting CP following a successful medical evaluation.

Quenda has given his approval to Enzo Maresca’s project and will officially join Chelsea in 2026. The financial details of the transfer remain undisclosed, but it is believed that Chelsea paid a substantial fee to secure the highly-rated prospect.

Quenda’s arrival aligns perfectly with Chelsea’s long-term vision of integrating young and dynamic talent into their squad. While he will remain at Sporting CP for now, the Blues are eagerly anticipating his arrival in 2026. This strategic approach allows Quenda to gain more first-team experience before making the switch to the Premier League.

Chelsea’s commitment to youth development and squad depth is evident in this signing. Quenda’s versatility and potential make him a valuable addition to the team, and his performances in Portugal have already demonstrated his readiness for top-level football. As Chelsea continues to build for the future, the addition of Quenda highlights their ambition and forward-thinking strategy.
